Most memorable trip
My most special travel experience was actually far more than a trip. While learning Spanish, I lived with a Mexican family in Guanajuato for several months. This meant I not only became acquainted with the language, but also got to experience daily life, culture and Mexican hospitality up close.
Guanajuato and its surroundings made a deep impression on me. The colourful colonial city, the narrow streets and tunnels, the rich history and the life on the streets show a very different side of Mexico than the familiar image of sun, sea and beach. It's precisely this experience that shaped my love for the real, multifaceted Mexico.
